Valerie worked administration and office management within the health care and non-profit industries for many years. This has given her an insight into the challenges seniors and individuals face throughout their lives.
Valerie stepped into the role of caregiver for a lifelong family friend with progressive MS. She learned that helping someone make a major change in their life is much more than packing boxes and coordinating services. It means taking the time to get to know the person and their family. Providing them with compassion and support while they make big and small decisions surrounding their life and belongings. Having to pack a life time worth of belongings, labeling boxes, arranging for the transfer of services, contractors, donations, garbage removal, recycling, cleaners, and coordinating movers is extremely demanding and stressful. Valerie’s organization and resourcefulness will take the worry off of you and your family.
By showing humility, kindness and understanding you can take a scary, confusing time and make it more manageable. With guidance the moving experience can be like turning a page in a book and starting a new adventure.
Through her experience Valerie has learned there is a need for this kind of personalized service in Calgary. Seniors and individuals in our community could really benefit from this type of tailored support and assistance. It brought Valerie so much joy to have her friend look at the next chapter of her life with more optimism and less fear when she moved.
